Tile Shade Variations Explained

Tile Shade Variations Explained

When designing tiles, they are grouped by the different shade variations. The shade variation is graded based on the shades, colours and designs.

V1 – UNIFORM from tile to tile

The range of colours and tones within the same shade is relatively uniformed from tile to tile. There is minimal to no difference among pieces from the same production run.

V2 – SLIGHTLY noticeable from tile to tile.

The range of colours and tones within the same shade is slightly noticeable from tile to tile. There are clearly distinguishable differences in design texture or pattern with similar or slight change in colour tones.

V3 – MODERATELY noticeable from tile to tile

The range of colours and tones within the same shade is moderately noticeable from tile to tile. There are clearly distinguishable differences in design texture or pattern.

V4 – DISTINCTLY noticeable from tile to tile

The range of colours and tones within the same shade is distinctly different from tile to tile. Random colour and design texture differences can be seen from tile to tile. One tile may have totally different colour from another tile. Final installation can be unique.
