Founder & Creative Director, Blaine Robert Design
As a 16-year-old in his native Canada, Blaine showed a strong inclination towards home décor at an early age. After graduating from the University of Calgary in 1986, he worked in Canada for two years. In 1988, inspired by Japanese architecture and minimalist design, he made the decision to move to Tokyo, where he spent the next 12 years working in freelance design.
He had the opportunity to come to Malaysia from Singapore at the start of the new millennium, his eagerness for Malaysia began by the fact it was so reasonably priced to fly 1st class between the 2 countries and always be welcomed a glass of champagne and a great magazine in the lounge.
Therefore, coming here in such style encouraged the passion to move here and start his own business. But the story began in Japan where he first had his taste of the ID business and Blaine admits it was the best experience at setting a foundation of quality, respect and integrity. After enough sushi, it was his few years in Hong Kong that added the business flair, then Singapore where it all came together in cementing an understanding of the business and how important the role was in creating better lives for people.
